Beta-Start - Sea and Life Science is on the way and in a few weeks you will be able to be part of this entrepreneurial project with your idea and your team. It will be the 6th edition of Beta-start where we will be challenging early and seed stage entrepreneurs turning ideas into a viable and successful business.
A challenging calendar of 6 full time weeks:
1st Week - you will question your idea, learn methodologies, see market trends and meet the first group of mentors.
2nd week - the business plan will be on the first phase of creation and you will be challenged to define a value proposition or to learn about payment methods.
With such a complete calendar you will need time to mature and develop your project and the start up time will be the 3rd week where you will be by yourself preparing deliverables. In the 4th week your soft skills and habilities to manage human resources will be on focus.
5th week - internationalization concepts or social web marketing will be developed just before the last week, a countdown to the Demo Day with evaluation sessions and a rehearsal of your presentation to investors and potential clients.
During six weeks you will be surrounded by talented people, from academic fields to entrepreneurs that made a startup happen. We ensure you the best network environment to get advices, learning experiences and a great escort on your project.
Your team's Coach is your best friend throughout Beta-start! You will meet with him once a week to define your work plan and deliverables. You’ll have the chance to maintain regular contact with a coach such as:

João Carlos Gomes - Partner at Deloitte, he is a specialist on financial and tax incentives to support productive investment and R&DI. He is also an MBA professor of “Commercial Negotiation".
Vasco Pedro - A serial entrepreneur leading the development of Flashgroup Portugal and founder of Bueda, a semantic Web Startup in Pennsylvania.
José Rui Soares - Owner of Whatever SGPS, a group of individual entrepreneurs who believe it is possible to create value through an ecosystem.
Mentors are seasoned entrepreneurs from several backgrounds with whom you will work your idea during one hour sessions. Their purpose is to streamline your business idea sharing their own insights.

Trainers from different backgrounds will provide you with a number of workshops where you can expand your business knowledge in areas such as Social Media, Design Thinking, Finance, and Pitching to investors.
Paulo Andrez - President at EBAN - European Business Angel and Early Stage Investors Network, his workshop will be about Deal.
Rui Sousa - The CFO of OutSystems will give Basic Finance for startups. He has16 years of professional experience within the finance area and he has a great entrepreneurial spirit.
